Meet the Teachers

At Discovery Trails our team of experienced teaching professionals has a true passion for the power of early childhood education.

Jennifer Baker, the lead teacher, has taught children eight and under since 1989. She is Colorado State Director Certified, has a Level Five Colorado State Early Childhood credential and holds a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood. Jen is the parent to two grown sons and the grandmother of three. She has taught at various preschools and private schools in the area and is the former director/teacher of the Early Childhood Program at the Renaissance Academy. In her spare time, she teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses for the College of Education at the University of Phoenix.

Lisa Draper has been with Discovery Trails since 2015. She is the parent to five children-four grown. She has an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor Degree K-12 Special Education and 35 Credits towards her Master’s Degree. Lisa holds a Colorado Teaching Certificate with both Special Education and Gifted Education Endorsements. She has worked as a Special Education Assistant and Substitute Assistant for School District 11, an After School Tutor, a Special Education Resource Teacher and a has volunteered as a Reading Tutor.

Peggy Priest has many years of experience teaching children. She taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and Kindergarten with the last six years teaching Pre-Kindergarten and Preschool. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and an Elementary Teaching Certificate for the state of California. She received Level IV Early Childhood Education Credential from the state of Colorado and has her state of Colorado early childhood director license.   In the past she taught side by side with Jen at the Renaissance Academy.
